CLWRota Annual Forum 2014

The sixth CLWRota forum was held on Friday 19 September at King's Place in central London. It was attended by 86 people from from 42 Trusts.

Summary of events

The event commenced with an introduction and overview of the day and a quick introduction to recent development work from Ollie Fielding. Dr Mark Nash from University Hospital of North Staffordshire then gave a talk on how to use data to drive department change and gave an account on how we has moved the department from counting leave to focusing on counting sessions delivered. Dr Mark Cox for Chelsea and Westminster Hospital and Dr Jason Wilson from Imperial College Healthcare then took us through the department benchmark and performance data.

The conversation about the latest statistics was continued over lunch where demonstrations of the system were available as was the opportunity for informal discussion between delegates about rota management issues.

Following lunch Oliver Radford, the former manager of anaestheisa at Central Manchester Foundation Trust, discussed the use of flexible staff and how to make the most of them. This was followed by an in-depth look at some of the recent development work and an introduction to the upcoming leave requests system from members of the Rotamap team.

The Forum was concluded with drinks and discussion.
